Yeronga Residence

Having already worked on other living zones of this Yeronga home,  the homeowners wanted a kitchen that would provide plentiful bench preparation space and savvy storage solutions.  There was also a desire to create greater openness and light in what was a very narrow, dark and relatively enclosed area.

The kitchen design needed to transform the central living space of the house into a new focal point for entertaining, allowing for more relaxed, modern living. Both style and functionality were kept front of mind when gathering materials for this project. The antique green kitchen splashback tiles were selected as a prominent feature to complement the homeowners’ vintage collections, and the Caesarstone Fresh Concrete benchtops were chosen to further enhance the room’s appearance by introducing a modern industrial element.

Though the kitchen looks flawless now, We had to navigate and overcome a few challenges during the design stage of the project. The existing walls in particular were difficult to work around at first. However, a structural post was removed to allow the team to open up a wall to create more space.

The extension of the benchtop using hairpin style legs a good solution to compensate for any flex and floor inconsistencies into the adjoining kitchen/sitting area whilst providing a functional and featured addition to the space which previously had limited connectivity. This also helped to take advantage of the city views.

The end result is a bright, modern zone that the homeowners are sure to cherish for years to come.

Hard finish surfaces selections were chosen for a penthouse standard keeping them classic and light to uplift the space. High quality tapware and fittings where selected to completed the ensuite bringing it to an outstanding level of luxury for the apartment that is deserved.

The shower area was once a small awkward space, but with the redesign we moved the shower head to the adjacent wall and positioned the shower screen so that it returned at an angle off the lower bath hob to create a generous shower space.

The vanity design like a piece of furniture, whilst narrow it provided ample storage solutions with narrow shelves and drawers spaces.  Beautiful elegant curved shaped mirrors and soft wall lighting completed the final finishing touches to the space.
